Homer O. Murray

CORRIGANVILLE- Homer O. Murray, age 89, of Corriganville, passed away on Monday December 14, 2020 at the Goodwill Retirement Community due to complications from Covid.

Born on March 27, 1931, in Sandpatch Pennsylvania, to Frank Murray and Laura (Fair) Murray, he was the youngest of twelve siblings.  He is survived by two siblings: Verna Forrest of Somerset, Pa; and Bruce Murray of Corriganville, MD. 

Homer was a wonderful, loving, caring father and spouse.  He was employed by the Kelly Springfield Tire Company for over 30 years.  Homer was a true huntsman, loved being out in nature, and was able to spend many years with his friends hunting and fishing.  He was a great storyteller and was happiest when in the woods. 

He is survived by his spouse Joan, who he adored and was married to for over 71 years.  His four daughters are: Sue and Ed Welsh; Cindy Murray and Joe Twigg; Roxan and Ed Melotti; and Nancy and Brock Arnone.  He completely loved and enjoyed his seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  

The family would like to thank the many caretakers over the years who treated Homer like family and cared greatly for him in his home and also to the entire amazing staff of Goodwill Retirement Community.  Our greatest appreciation is given to all of those caregivers and medical providers.

To keep family and friends safe in the current pandemic, there will not be a typical funeral/viewing.  It is the hope of the family that a celebration of life may be held in the near future when it is safe to do so.
