Evelyn Gayle Dicken, 67, of Ridgeley, W.Va, died October 1, 2020 at DawnView Nursing Center.

 Born January 4, 1953 in Cumberland, the daughter of Jim and Annabell (Smith) Gordon. She was Preceded in death by her parents; and sisters: Anna (Myrtle) Holt and husband Ernest of Cresaptown, Md, , Josephine (Josie) Mae Norris and husband Jesse of Michigan, and Elizabeth (Betty) Rose Burley and husband Kenneth of Ellerslie Md.; infant Brother John (Billy) Grant Leonard, and brother Edward Benjamin Gordon

Survived by her husband, Charles Dicken Sr., Ridgeley, W.Va; children: Brian Scell, Cumberland; Ann (Scell) Miller and husband Jason, Cumberland; step-children: William Dicken and wife Stephanie, and Chuck Dicken and wife Julie; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a brother: Robert Irvin Leonard and wife Carola, Martinsville, W.Va.

She was a graduate from Mt. Savage High School. A member of Rock of Ages Church; and an associate life member of Vietnam Veteran’s of America Chapter 791. Gayle never met a stranger. She showed love and kindness to everybody, and her smile lit up a room.

The family will receive friends at the Bradley J. Duffy Funeral Home P.A. 1322 National Highway, LaVale on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Marshall Carder officiating. 

Interment at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Levels, W.Va.

The family would like to thank DawnView Nursing Home for all their love and support during Gayle’s stay. A special thank you to her granddaughter and speech pathologist, Holly Dicken, who gave exceptional care to Gayle until her last day. Also a thank you to Theresa White, Director of Nursing at DawnView Nursing Center, for her love and kindness.
