LaVale - Carol Louise Phillips, 78, of LaVale and Daytona, FL died peacefully at her home after a battle with cancer on Sunday, April 19, 2020
Born November 17, 1941 in Meyersdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Purbaugh. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Purbaugh.
Carol was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and taking care of her family. She was a BeautiControl Consultant. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Cresaptown,MD. served in Sunday School and Awana ministries.
Surviving is her husband of 62 yrs, Ed Phillips, and children Sue MacGray, husband Steve, Ed Phillips Jr., wife Abilene, Diane Phillips-Chitwood, husband Daniel, Sally Benson,husband David. She had 9 grandchildren, Sheri(Brian) Orndorff, Aaron (Lizzie),MacGray Kara(Gordon)Bowen, Brad(Becky)Phillips, Tyler(Cera) Shell,Tim(Kristan)Shell, Megan(Ryan) Fordham, Mary Beth(Ben) Russell, Matt(Kailee) Benson and 12 great grandchildren.
At her request, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date due to the COVID 19 virus.
