Angela Marie (Fadeley) Valentine

February 3, 1966 ~ November 1, 2022 (age 56) 56 Years Old

CUMBERLAND- Angela Marie (Fadeley) Valentine, adoring wife, loving mother, and wonderful Nana, passed away peacefully in her home November 1, 2022 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. However, She didn’t let the battle affect her positive mind and great spirit.

Angie was born February 3rd, 1966 in Frostburg.  She grew up in Finzel, Maryland with her mother and father, as the middle child of five. She was influenced by her family to be a loving caring woman, always giving to others. Angie loved her job as an Assistant Kindergarten Teacher at Frost Elementary School. She enjoyed talking about how great the staff and students were. Before that, she was the co-owner of Sunny Days Childcare and spent most of her time there where she worked with her daughter making beautiful memories for all of the children that came through.  As a wife, mother, daughter, and sister, she was generous, loving, and kind. As a Nana she became even more so. Her arms were always open, lending an ear, and welcoming all at any hour. If you had the opportunity to meet her just once, that’s all it took. Such a kind and gentle soul, she loved tending to plants and beautifying things in her free time. She was most comfortable around family and she didn’t like being in the spotlight. A silent perfectionist, she would’ve written this obituary herself if only she had the strength. She worked hard and continuously cared for everyone around her even in the end, and she was always game for a spontaneous midnight adventure.

Ang is preceded in death by her father, Ira V. Fadeley, whom she absolutely adored and her tiny dog companion, Beau.  She is survived by her loyal and devoted husband, Larry Valentine, who lovingly stayed by her side for the duration of her illness, her children who meant the world to her, her daughter, Samantha Soltas, her son, Zachary Austin, her son-in-law Nicholas Soltas, and her beautiful nandaughters Kaydance Beachy, Kamdyn Soltas, Lainey Clark, and Delia Austin, her loving and jovial mother, Shirley Fadeley, her wild and crazy siblings who she loved beyond measure, her sister, Ruthie Miller, her brothers John Fadeley and Jason Fadeley, and her baby sister and best friend, Kristie Stonestreet. Ang is also survived by her other nanchildren, Shyanne Yutzy, Steven Yutzy, and Summer Yutzy, her sisters in-law, her many nieces and nephews that she loved so much, the countless children whose lives she touched, and an old friend, Ray Austin.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date. For those who would like to attend, please reach out to Larry Valentine, Samantha Soltas, or Kristie Stonestreet and they will provide details when they become available.  Please remember to wear BRIGHT colors as requested by Angie and her family.  Angie’s wishes were to be cremated and there will not be a viewing.

Angie’s husband and family would like to thank the Cancer Center and Hospice nurses for taking such great care of an incredibly special woman. Even in her weakest moments, she was grateful for their gentle care.  Nana had a passion for the more simple and beautiful things in life, always taking the time to stop and admire nature and smell the wildflowers. Being a Nana was her favorite thing in the entire world. She will be missed by all who knew her, and her light will continue to shine, forever.

After Glow

I’d like the memory of me, To be a happy one, I’d like to leave an After Glow, Of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo, Whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times, And bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, To dry before the sun, Of happy memories that I leave, When life is done.
